Well my first attempt turned out well. Kids love it. According to the boys it is as good as Coffee Bean's.

Horrible RVC

I did not bake this. This was from a very famous diner ... OMG it was horrible... Everything about this RVC was wrong. The frosting was horrible, the cake was dry and there was no tinge of chocolate at all. I was shocked that they actually sold this. I bake better than this.

A friend sent me this picture. She said she thought of me when she saw this.
I am currently using Cornell hand mix which I got from HSBC credit card points. It has been serving me well. Before Cornell I was using a Panasonic hand mix which was handed over to me from my mum. Old mixer - bought in 1995.
My point is that u don't need an expensive mixer to bake good cakes. It is in the techniques. Of cos having one of those power mixer is a bonus ; ) but then they are so expensive here. Ed told me that it is less than RM1k in US. Why lah things are so much cheaper there.

This was featured in Okashi. The method caught my eyes. My classes are to resume in March & this means I hv some free time to explore. Too many things on my list right now.

Cake Pops

They r so cute! I am finally able to get these pops to stay on d lollipop sticks n not slip.
I find it too sweet but kids love it. Hmmm next time I will try to make a bland cake (sugarless) n hopefully the pops won't b so sweet after mixing it with frosting. Ed says it won't work as sugar acts as binding agent. Will see.

I was too lazy to decorate it with colors and various patterns. A lot of work leh... Took me 45 mins just to do the outline with one color. My hand was shaking... Could not get a nice straight line.

My next task is to bake a blueberry cake for d Nov birthday boys.

Ohhh I pray I have the time as my exam is on 17th.

I must start thinking of how to decor the top - choc rice? choc curls? Blueberry? Cherries? Or just plain cream?

Banana cupcakes with choc rice

Baked this for Yati our hourly maid who is celebrating Raya Haji tomorrow.

I love these cupcakes... The texture is spongy & light unlike the normal on the heavy side banana cake.

In baking the techniques are very important. For this cake I hand folded the batter.

Apam belang

Apam dot dot is very happening right now. Tried that few weeks back but failed miserably.

Then I found this apam belang recipe. Same ingredients. But method is much simpler.

There was a major issue at office & one bitch intentionally made me looked bad during one of the meeting. I am new so I lost out in terms of knowledge & experience of the process. Well well it is just a matter of time for me to catch up. This bitch is really stupid..now I am her enemy instead of ally. She felt threatened hence instead of supporting she took the opportunity to kill. I felt pity & sad for her. This shows she is insecure. She only does this to female colleagues. Hiyoh why is she so Bodoh! We women are supposed to look out for each other especially in the men dominant corporate world. We are the minority lah! In the management team there are 3 females & 7 males. She will be nice hmmm actually super nice to the males colleagues. Or she is just GATAL!!!

Oops... I just need to rant.

Orange choc chips cake

Stress = baking.
Work at the office never seems to end & I don't even have time to look at strategic stuffs which why I was hired in the first place. Have been doing what if analysis for the past 2 months. Okay okay back to the cake...

Don't feel like baking another choc cake. Wanted to bake a marble cake but I was too lazy as I need to have 2 types of mix, one vanilla & one choc. So end up baking this. Can't wait to dig in.

Lemon Cupcakes

It turned out perfect! Baking these cupcakes for Ry and Don to take to school tomorrow. They have been taking bread and biscuits to school lately as I do not have the time to bake.

Fish shaped 'ang kor nga pia'

saw this cute wooden fish mold at the market last week going for RM12.50. went back this week and the price has gone up to RM14!!! i nearly swear at the lady. she told me she put the wrong pricing last week. yah right!

back to ang kor nga pia ...this batch is the best. soft and moist. tried chocolate filling and it turned out good. going to make more : )
